36 Weeks

36 weeks
Lucy posing like mommy

Progress today at my 36th week appointment. Baby boy is measuring a week behind...but I am now dilated to one! Doctor still talked about me going early, so I am hanging on to that. Lost weight from last week - which is fine. I haven't gained as much this time - which again I am thankful for.

He still moves WAY more than Lucy...sometimes I just have to stop and wait...because his movements are so strong.

We finished his room this past week. Feels good to have things washed and ready to go. Just need to get the car seat ready...and back a little bag. We also were able to tour the hospital last weekend. Delivery will be at Southdale, instead of Abbott. It's a lot closer, and just as nice. Nice to know where we are going for the real deal.

Besides planning for him...we are approaching Thanksgiving. We are planning on putting up the Christmas decorations and just hang out as a family. And maybe, just maybe I might venture out on Friday to shop. Could be a mistake...but could also be great fun!

We will miss family this weekend (suppose to be with the Ledbetter/Sweet side)...but thankful taht we will see family at Christmas.

Happy Thanksgiving!

34 weeks

25 weeks

I am 34 weeks today! I have felt the most uncomfortable contractions thus far this afternoon. I feel like he is trying to escape! My next appointment is Tuesday. He is WAY more active than LL. This past month I only gained 10 oz for the whole month. Part of this was due to the stomach bug I had last week. I have been trying to make it up by partaking in lots of Halloween candy and banana bread! Feeling tired, but grateful.

Change is Gonna Come!

Lately I have been reflecting on seasons and change and what is before us. We often just go day to day without really thinking of how our lives will change with a new child, or job, house, or move. I have always felt in my adult years that seasons fly by, but nothing like waking up and realizing that your baby is now a little girl or that I HAVE actually aged since college.

I look forward to Christmas in a whole new way this year. We will welcome a new baby boy (whose name we have not decided on..yikes!) in a world full of lights and Christmas cheer. I must say at first I was hoping that he would come earlier or maybe a little after the Holiday, but as I drive around town and ALREADY see Christmas lights up and hear holiday music being played in department stores BEFORE Thanksgiving, it makes me a little excited. I want to have that childlike anticipation for this season to celebrate the blessing the Lord is giving us. We never want to take it for granted or pretend it is anything short of a miracle.

Before we get to Christmas we have Thanksgiving in two weeks. I can say that I am so thankful for Family and Friends this season. We will be staying in Mpls for the first time in 12 years (for me at least, 10 for John). Since all family is out of state - we always find ourselves hitting the long road. This year we get to spend time with friends and also stay home (per doctor's orders) and enjoy the holiday together...and I am sure there will be football on too.

Change is coming...and I think I like it!
