Duke had surgery on his back left leg yesterday. He is doing well, however breaking rules as usual! He isn't suppose to run, jump, play or climb stairs. Well, this leg won't stop him! He has to be watched 24/7. We hope he heals up soon!
So as many of you know Duke is ALWAYS trying to get close to Lucy. He LOVES her...and I think she is quite fond of him too. So we did a little photo shoot together. They are both pretty cute.
Calling all grandma's and mom's...you would be proud. I made my FIRST Apple Peanut Butter Crumb Pie ever! Yes, it is true. John is in pie heaven. I also made an Apple Dessert and Apple Bread. I have a picture for proof!!! :)
Lucy made the big switch to her crib a week ago Friday. First few days were rough...but she has successfully slept (only getting up once to eat) for the last 4 nights. She loves her crib!
Duke has had many play dates. But one puppy in particular melts his little puggle heart. That is Miss Daisy. The proud parents Wade and Lauren stopped by last night for a little visit. We decided to put them in the same kennel, and there we have "Daisy Duke". Too cute!
Lucy and dad have shared some special moments. Most have been sweet cuddle time or playing peek-a-boo. However the other night Lucy had a "moment" with dad. This included screaming at the top of her lungs for almost 2 hours straight. Mom came home and found her happy as can be in her car seat! Works wonders...
JOHN DID IT! Yes, he made it through the cold, rainy, windy miserable run yesterday. I am so proud of him. This was his first marathon, and he did great!
Saturday we headed south to the Jordan apple orchard with Katie and Troy. We had awesome weather! It was fun to run into the Matt & Maria too. Lucy did great with taking a million family photos. She is a trooper!
So I decided to start a family blog for us Nelson's. There are many new things in our lives that we would like to start sharing with friends and family.
The first is of course our new little girl Lucy Lynne. We were blessed with her August 16th, 2008. The last 7 weeks have been filled with excitment, a little fear, less sleep, out of town visitors, and lots of pictures! We adore her and love being parents. I espcially have been really enjoying my maternity leave. I cherish all the moments I spend with her (even last night at 1am, 2am, 4am and 6am!) Some nights are better than others.
