Change is Gonna Come!

Lately I have been reflecting on seasons and change and what is before us. We often just go day to day without really thinking of how our lives will change with a new child, or job, house, or move. I have always felt in my adult years that seasons fly by, but nothing like waking up and realizing that your baby is now a little girl or that I HAVE actually aged since college.

I look forward to Christmas in a whole new way this year. We will welcome a new baby boy (whose name we have not decided on..yikes!) in a world full of lights and Christmas cheer. I must say at first I was hoping that he would come earlier or maybe a little after the Holiday, but as I drive around town and ALREADY see Christmas lights up and hear holiday music being played in department stores BEFORE Thanksgiving, it makes me a little excited. I want to have that childlike anticipation for this season to celebrate the blessing the Lord is giving us. We never want to take it for granted or pretend it is anything short of a miracle.

Before we get to Christmas we have Thanksgiving in two weeks. I can say that I am so thankful for Family and Friends this season. We will be staying in Mpls for the first time in 12 years (for me at least, 10 for John). Since all family is out of state - we always find ourselves hitting the long road. This year we get to spend time with friends and also stay home (per doctor's orders) and enjoy the holiday together...and I am sure there will be football on too.

Change is coming...and I think I like it!

Update on Baby Boy Nelson

23 weeks

Today marks 23 weeks! I am feeling the boy move ALL day long. He is way more active than Lucy. I had my check-up yesterday and his heart beat was 140 bpm. We were so excited to learn at the last visit that he is a BOY! Fun to have a little bro for Lucy. I think they will be quite the pair.

Week 14...

Had my 14 week appointment yesterday. Baby is doing well. Heartbeat was found RIGHT away, which was a relief. We find out in 6 weeks! I need to start taking some pictures of my growing tummy.

Early Christmas Present!

As some of you already know, on April 16th, we found out we were expecting baby #2! I took a test that Friday morning, and it showed up negative. So I tossed it. Later that night around 9:30pm, I went back into the bathroom and saw it in the trash. So out of curiosity, I picked it back up and it was POSITIVE!!?? I ran out to the living room, and told John the mystery. I took another test and it as positive right away. I had one test left. So the next morning, I took another one, and it did the same thing. It was negative for about 10 min, and then turned to positive. Very tricky!

The last two months have had it's ups and downs. I have felt more sick with this little one. I am proud to say that I am now officially 13 weeks, and starting to feel like myself again. Haven't been nauseous at all this week.

I am starting to grow...a little faster this time around. On our 10 week appointment, we were able to get a quick ultrasound. Baby measured right on schedule. Our due date is Dec. 22nd. This Tuesday we go in for our 14 week appointment. Won't be long and we will know if it's a boy/girl.

Summer is already flying by. Lucy last weekend went into a "big bed". This was a major step. So far, so good. She loves it...and so does Duke! Maybe one day he will decide to sleep with her instead of us!

Lucy is talking up a storm. Each day it's like she has 10 more words. Sentences too! That is all the updates for now. Updated pictures to come!
